The article is about US-led forces striking Isis, also called Islamic State, by launching 26 air strikes; 15 against Islamic State militants in Iraq and 11 in Syria which were led by Jordan and his crew. The strikes first began on 8 August in Iraq and 23 September. According to Combined Joint Task Force the air strikes hit seven of the militants' tactical units and destroyed five vehicles and two staging areas. Also supporters of Isis posted on a website that the Jordanian air strikes killed a US hostage by Isis Kayla Mueller.

From reading this article I think of a text to world connection which is US airstrikes targeting al-Qaeda faction in Syria. In both the article and the connection US has led an airstrike towards a terrorist group in Syria just the enemy has changed. Furthermore the airstrikes against Isis hit seven of the militants' tactical units and destroyed five vehicles and two staging areas. Similar to the airstrikes towards al-Qaeda in which five strikes invaded the al-Qaeda lined Khorasan group. US hostage Kayla Mueller was told to be killed by the airstrikes, likewise there was a French bombmaker that was said to be killed by the air strikes against al-Qaeda. So two foreigners getting killed from the strikes. This extends my understanding that attacking terrorists is the only action that works to stop them or is the only option that the dominant countries like US conclude on.
Anshuman, your final statement suggests that you think that bombing these militants might not be the best, or at least the only way to deal with these militants. an you think of other ways that the west can deter groups like Al Qaeda or now ISIS?
